Design trends move fast, and chasing all of them makes a site look dated within a year. Here's what's actually worth building into an Australian business site right now, and what's decoration.

Worth adopting: genuinely mobile-first layouts

Not just "responsive" in the technical sense — designed for mobile first, then scaled up, since most Australian traffic to a small business site is on a phone. Desktop as an afterthought shows, and it costs conversions.

Worth adopting: clear, confident typography
